Grilled Tofu Lettuce Spinach Sandwich Recipe
A delightfully spicy and tangy sandwich made with tofu marinated in mustard sauce and served along with lettuce and spinach, makes for a great evening snack along with a cup of tea.
Grilled Tofu Spinach/Lettuce Sandwich is packed with nutrition and is super easy to cook. We used a regular whole wheat sandwich bread and toasted them, then grilled the mustard marinated tofu and packed it into a sandwich with lettuce leaves, tomatoes and onions. To give the sandwich an extra punch, we added the mustard sauce and tabasco sauce.

Ingredients
- 200 grams Tofu , sliced into squares of bread slice size
- 1/4 cup Sesame seeds (Til seeds)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
- 1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 4 Whole Wheat Brown Bread , toasted
- 1 Tomato , thinly sliced
- 1 Onion , thinly sliced into rings
- 6 Iceberg lettuce , or spinach leaves
- 1 teaspoon Tabasco Original - Hot Sauce , (optional)
- Salt and Pepper , to taste
How to make Grilled Tofu Lettuce Spinach Sandwich Recipe
To begin making the Grilled Tofu Spinach Sandwich Recipe, in a large mixing bowl combine the olive oil, dijon mustard and a pinch of salt and pepper
Toss the tofu in the mustard and allow it to rest for 30 minutes to marinate or place in the refrigerator for 3 hours.
Preheat the grill pan on medium heat and grease it with a tablespoon of oil.
Arrange the tofu in the hot grill pan. Grill on medium high until the tofu gets a crispy outer and turns golden brown on both sides.
Toast each of the bread slices in a toaster until browned and crisp. You can also use an iron skillet to toast them.
Evenly place the tomato slices, onion rings and spinach or lettuce leaves on the bread slices. Place the grilled tofu on the bread slices and drizzle some tabasco sauce and dijon mustard on the sandwich.
Cover with the remaining bread slices and serve warm. You could also wrap the Grilled Tofu Sandwiches in a butter paper and pack them for the picnics.
