When it comes to Gujarati cuisine, there's absolutely no doubt that their food is packed with flavours. Unique in its own way, with notes of sweet and spicy found in almost all their dishes. Here is one such popular dish called Theplas, that can literally be eaten at any time of the day.
Theplas essentially are Gujarati flat breads, similar to rotis or chapatis, which are made using flour, be it whole wheat or any other grain flour, seasoned with spices and choice of greens of certain vegetables. All of which are mixed and made into a dough.
Rolled out and cooked on a tawa. These theplas can be served either at breakfast, lunch or even dinner. They also make a great travel meal, that can be had with a steaming hot cuppa chai or just a bit of pickle.
Here are combinations of theplas of different varieties, being served with an array of Gujarati subzis, called Shaak and of course some pickle by the side to turn up the heat.
So go ahead and cook up these meals for your family and friends.
